MIHAN Improvement Schemes by NIT Nagpur 2014

NAGPUR Improvement Trust (NIT) conducted a meeting of the land owners for its second improvement scheme proposed in the villages of Sumthana. Kotewada. Sondapar. Jamtha and Parsodi near MIHAN. NIT is appointed as a Special Planning Authority for preparing the development plan of Nagpur Metro Region. NIT is preparing improvement schemes lor ensuring planned development in the peripheral areas along the Gujarat model of preparing town planning or land readjustment schemes.
The planning involves providing for roads, amenities such as health facilities, schools, open spaces and infrastructure such as roads, water supply, drainage, storm water and recycling network. In the process of planning each land parcel is provided access and the parcel is reshaped into a square or a rectangular plot to ensure planned and efficient development of land. Each land owner gets hack 60% of the original land plot as a final plot. From the 40% land appropriated from each land owner roads and plots for providing amenities are created.

The area of Improvement scheme MIHAN is about 11 sq km and has about 400 land owners. The cost of infrastructure is about 610 crores. The meeting was conducted by ihc NIT officials - Sunil Gujjclwar. Pravin Kide and Sujata Kadu and their lown planning coasultani Shirley Ballaney from HCP Design. Planning and Management. Ahmedabad. The scheme was presented to the land owners and after the presentation, the NIT officials and their team of con-sullants explained the proposals individually to all ihc land owners present. In the next 30 days, the land owners can give in their objections and suggestions in writing to NIT. NIT will modify the scheme based on these and then the scheme wilt be submitted to ihc State Government for sanction. NIT plaas to implement this and the first scheme prepared for Kirmiti, Panjari. Shivmadka. Summana and Khadka in a phased manner over a period of next 5 to 6 years.
