SCTEVT Orissa was established in the year of 1976 in Bhubaneswar to manage and direct the diploma and ITI education in Orissa. All the diploma colleges, polytechnics and ITI institutes are affiliated with this board. There are total 93 diploma colleges and 639 ITI institutes in whole Orissa and all are attached with this board and this board is affiliated with AICTE. Large number of candidates apper every year for Diploma exam through SCTEVT.

All affiliated colleges follow the board means SCTEVT manage and control these colleges. Board decides the syllabus, exam paper, exam time table, exam pattern and all the related works. Board takes the term end exams for all semesters and promotes passed students to next semester and these term end examinations are taken during this time period. Recently board has arranged the term end exams for all odd semesters and there are lots of students who have given this exam including all colleges and branches.
