RTMNU to send passed resolutions on banned colleges to HC



THOUGH Academic Council has passed two resolutions regarding removing the names of the colleges from the website. Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University has decided to send them lo High Court. In absence of Vice-Chancellor Dr Vilas Sapkal, the Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Yenkie handled the meeting in a tougher manner.
There is a ban on 250 colleges which are running sans full-time teachers and 51 more colleges which are having less than 50 per cent admissions. There was lot of discussion on this issue in the emergent meeting of Senate that was held on Thursday. In that meeting Adv Abhijeet Wanjari gave a fiery speech and demanded to resolve the issue then and there. Then the issuce came up in a meeting on Friday.

Members pointed out that the 22 colleges which had submitted the procedural details so the names of these colleges should be removed. Secondly the names of the 51 colleges having less than 50 per cent admissions should also be removed. These two resolutions have been passed on Friday. Dr Yenkie while chairing the academic council meet said that the university was taking decisions as per the order of High Court so these two resolutions would be placed before the honourable High Court.
