Hindi University to start study centre for languages

IN A bid 10 preserve ihe regional languages like Braj, Awadhi and Maithili in Madhya Pradesh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi University. Bhopal would soon establish special study centers in its campus.

The university has shortlisted 18 basic languages to be preserved in state. The study centers would help students and faculty members fo make research on history, social status and development of these languages, To discuss the proposed study center, senior officials of the university recently met in the campus. In the meeting, experts gave their suggestion about regional languages and their current status.

"We are trying to include all the regional languages of MP and nearby states in our proposed study center so thai it can be preserved. We will again call meeting of experts to go ahead with the proposal." said Professor Mohan Lai Cheepa. vice chancellor of the university.

He further informed that apart from research, the center would also provide diploma courses indifferent languages. Professor Clieepa said thai at present modern Hindi language is active in our society. But basic Hindi language which is active in some parts of Delhi. Western Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand is being vanished. However this language is rich on grammar and literature.

Apart from this, university is also working on "tri-language" project. Under this project, students will have to compulsory learn the three selected languages. Students will get to choose a foreign language and regional language along with Hindi. This project will be launched from this academic session (2014-15).

The university isalso starting PhD and M.Phil courses in 10 subjects including library science, music, painting, military science, philosophy, home science, journalism, yoga, psychology and statics from academic session 2014-15, informed Professor Cheepa. Still university is running PhD and M. Phil in 17 subjects. All these courses will be in Hindi language.
