MTDC 2014 New Projects in Bhandara, Gondia District
MAHARASHTRA Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), Nagpur, has designed three mega circuits covering Bhandara and Goodia districts to boost tourism. The Central Government has sanctioned Rs 45.32 crore for the purpose.
The first circuit is Nagra-Nagzira Wildlife Sanctuary-Navegaon National Park-Pratapgarh while the second circuit covers Ramtek-Gaimukh-Chandrapur. The third circuit is Bhandara-Ravanwadi-Paoni-Nagpur.
This was stated by Hanumant Hedc. Senior Regional Officer, MTDC, while talking to 'The Hitavada' here on Monday. He said that facilities like tourist reception centres, shops. lawns, rest houses, conference halls, tourists arrival centres, kiosks, parkings, resorts, yoga huts, nature trails, musical fountains, pathways and others would be provided for the visiting tourists. The procedure for inviting tenders for the works is in progress, he added.
MTDC has also plans to develop holiday resorts at Ambhora, Paoni and I'ipariyapeth near Ramtek while the resort at Sakoli is nearing complclion. The total expenditure on ihese works would he around R.s ten crore. II will also develop a restaurant at Balapur in Akola district. Hede mentioned.
A project has been taken up at Lonar crater in Buldana district, involving an expenditure of Rs 100 crore. for construction of eco-resort. observatory etc. Moreover. MTDC has opened its office in Amravati to undertake development works in Melghat in the interest of tourists.
Reliable sources informed that development works worth Rs 200 crore would be taken up in Vidarhha in the next three years.
