Nagpur University 2013 Exam Postpone
BOWING to the rising pressure by teachers' boycott on examination valuation work Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University has decided to postpone 48 examinations. These examinations were scheduled to begin on March 23. On Thursday the emergent meeting of Board of Examination was held wherein the decision was taken. The major examinations which have been postponed include BA Part I, BA Final. BSc Pan I. BSc Final, BCom. BCom Computer Applications, BBA Part I to Final. BSW. BEd etc.
In the first phase that began on March 5, around 77 examinations were conducted. From March 23, the number of examinations scheduled are 48. These examinations were supposed to be held at 200 centres.
When asked about what measures or steps university had taken since it was aware about the boycott. Vilas Ramteke. Controller of Examinations, said. "The notices have been issued to the teachers, advertisements were published inviting applications from retired teachers of whose services could have been utilised for die valuation, meeting of Principals was held. When we realised that none of the solution is workable, we have decided to postpone the examination."
"University received about 150-200 applications of die candidates who were ready to do valuation work. Out of this, 60 to 70 teachers were eligible."
University feels that shouldering examination valuation work on inexperienced or outsiders was a bit risky.
