Devendra Fadnavis BJP New PM Maharashtra
BHARATIYA Janaia Party (BJP) Stale President Devendra Fadnavis is near-certain to be the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra. The decision to this effect is likely to be ratified in the meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party Legislature Party-slated for Monday at Mumbai.
On Thursday morning, Fadnavis drove to Gadkariwada in Mahal to greet Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Giadkari on the occasion of Diwali. After the meeting, a visibly happy Fadnavis also exchanged Diwali wishes with waiting media-persons, hut refused to spell out whether any closed-door meeting was held with Gadkari and skirted all political questions while stating dial he got everybody's blessing.
Minutes later, Gadkari, while talking to media-persons reiterated "I am happy in Delhi. Devendra's father Gangadhar Fadnavis was my political guru. I was instrumental in bringing Devendra into politics. We have deep family bonds and have no differences as being played out by a section of media."
He also lamented that despite his clear refusal to return to State politics umpteen times, some people are trying to portray a growing chasm between him and Fadnavis while pulling lo rest all speculations of any competition between the two for the CM s post.
This clear indication has made BJP workers jubilant and thousands of BJP workers and many of the newly-elected legislators greeted Fadnavis at his Dharampelh residence on Thursday evening and Friday. Fadnavis, cheerfully greeted everybody and obliged them for a snap.
Fadnavis and Giadkari together greeted BJP office-bearers at BJP's Vidarbha Office at DhantoIi. BJP sources staled that they were together for Laxmi Pujan at BJP office and every year they attend this puja and no political discussion was held. However, the chemistry between two leaders in from of two leaders clearly revealed absolutely no divide or bitter feelings and the upbeat mood within BJP camp and body-language of Fadnavis who was beaming with confidence, left nobody in doubt as to who would be next Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
