According to Shaw the new platform will help in controlling the train traffic at Gondia and now there will be no requirement for trains to remain stay off in outer side and they can be rolled in at the new platform.
It may be recalled that SECR has declared Gondia as Model Railway Station. Gondia is a highest revenue generator for SECR after Nagpur in whole division.
Now, with fifth platform has become functional, as announced during rail budget, the much awaited Sarnath Express is very much likely to be extended by this month end upto Gondia.
