Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) promises to set up college & hospital

RANCHI: The Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) has promised the state government to set up a medical college and hospital in Jharkhand.

CCL chairman-cum-managing director Gopal Singh on Saturday met chief minister Arjun Munda and assured that the company would appoint a consultant to set up a medical college and hospital. This was the first meeting between Singh and the chief minister. tnn

Spokesperson of CCL Deepak Kumar said that the CMD assured the chief minister that the company is committed for the development of Jharkhand and its citizens' prosperity.

"The CMD assured the chief minister that company would take appropriate steps in this direction. After the report of consultants is ready CCL would take immediate action," said Kumar.

During the meeting Singh also briefed Munda about coal production, dispatch, royalty, manpower, upcoming projects and welfare works carried out under corporate social responsibility.

Singh also informed the CM that upcoming projects of the company especially Magadh and Amrapali would help in increasing the production and in turn royalty for the state.
