Toll Booth At Nandori Village Warora

THE Slate Government woke up from deep slumber after the recent violent agitation against toll tax collection at Kolhapur and the Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan was forced to announce that the new policy would be chalked out for toll lax collection. BJP leader Gopinath Munde also declared to create "Toll- Free Maharashtra" if voted lo power, even as the construct ionof roads and bridges on BOTH basis was initialed in the tenure of BJP-Shiv Sena Alliance Government.
But. the people in Chandrapur district are facing huge financial and mental harassment due to toll booths in the district. Presently, there are three toll booths on Chandrapur-Nagpur road at ihe distance of just 150 kms and fourth one is about to start at Nandori near Warora. The people have to pay Rs 155 for 150 kms as toll tax. It means they pay Rs 310 for travelling to and fro Nagpur (Rs 235 for return toll). After the installation of the fourth one. they will have to pay Rs 45 more. The people have to shell out Rs 350 or Rs 300 (if they return on the same day). However, the people who are already facing financial and menial harassment are strongly opposing ihis move.
On the way to Nagpur, you come across the first toll booth at Tadali to pay Rs 30. even as it is not the pan of any road between Nagpur-Chandrapur. The matter of the fact is the toll that has been collected against the three railway over bridges (ROBs ) constructed in Chandrapur city located at Warora Naka Square. Rajiv Gandhi Engineering College and Kundan Plaza. As you head towards, you have to pay Rs 45 at a toll booth between Warora and Jam.
Later, there is one more toll tax waiting to empty your pocket by Rs 80 between Jam and Buiibori. Interestingly, the said toll tax is also not the pan of Nagpur-Chandrapur road as it is meant for Nagpur-Jabal pu r road. Earlier, this toll booth had to be built at Borkhedi between Nagpur and Buiibori but it was later moved forward by the High Court orders after the people and industrialists in Butihori filed appeal at High Court.
