Following this. numerous Anganwadi workers and assistants from Nagpur and neighboring districts of Vidarbha gathered at Samvidhaan Square to stage agitation.
The demands of the agitators include provision of honorary and sustenance allowance to retired Anganwadi workers and assistants and 13 other demands.
The strike call was given by the Maharashtra Rajya Anganwadi employees action committee.
