MAHA TET Exam Form Submission upto 15 Nov 2013

MAHA TET Exam Form Submission upto 15 Nov 2013

The online registration for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), which will be conducted for the first time in the state this year, will close on Monday. However, the submission of forms, which is mandatory for the candidates, will be on till November 15 on the premises of the Kolhapur zilla parishad (ZP).

The TET exam is set to be conducted on December 15. The test has been made compulsory for all the schools in the state irrespective of their funding status. The Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE) had published its advertisement on October 17, inviting online applications from the interested candidates.

A zilla parishad official said, "In the early phase of registration and form submission, the response was very low. But over the time, it has improved a lot. As on November 8, around 20,000 TET aspirants have registered online from the district, of which 14,000 have submitted the forms. As Monday is the last date for online registration and Friday for submission, we are expecting heavy rush from the candidates and are ready for it."

Talking about the measures being taken to handle the heavy rush, the official said, "We have already started two additional form submission booths at the zilla parishad."

Earlier, the ZP had a single form collection booth, which drew criticism from TET aspirants as outstation candidates had to wait in queue for hours. The absence of separate queue for women aspirants too created a stir during the first week of form submission. The state had said the test would help filter the best candidates from the rest and that public and private schools will be allowed to recruit only those teachers who have cleared the test. There are 3,38,658 sanctioned posts of teachers in the state of which 32,746 are vacant.

TET is not mandatory for existing teachers and applicable for those aspiring to become teachers. The syllabus for the exam will be based on secondary and higher secondary school education. The TET will imply strict educational qualification with 60% score for open category students and 55% for reserved category students. Students clearing the exam will get certificates valid for seven years.

Online Registration for Maharashtra State Teacher's Eligibility Test (MahaTET)- 2013 will close on 11-11-2013 at 11.59 PM
