More than 60% seats in MBA may remain vacant in 2013 Admission Process

More than 60% seats in MBA may remain vacant in 2013 Admission Process in RTMNU

seats in MBA may remain vacant in 2013

THOUGH the picture is gloomy as far as MBA admissions are concerned but some of the colleges in Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) have fired well. Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management (RCOEM), and NIT Graduate School of Management (NIT-GSM) lopped the table with 100% Admissions. As per Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Report after CAP Round IV. I here were 1736 admissions through CAP against an intake of 4493. 31 cancellations of CAP admissions and 2757 CAP vacancies. In all there are 5100 seats in Nagpur region. Institute-level seals are 414.
Over 90 per cent admissions ai Dr Ambedkar Institute of Management Studies and Research (DAIMSR). Kamla Nehru Mahavidyataya. J D College of Engineering and Management and Tulsiram Gaikwad Palil College of Engineering, followed by Tirpude Institute of Management. Central India Business Management Research and Development (CIBM-RD). Dana Meghe Institute of Management Studies (DMIMS) and Jhulelal Institute of Technology.
Though institute-level intake is 414. DTE report does not relied the exact admissions done have the institutes. As the cut-off date is August 10. 2013 for admissions. Institute upload the admission status by cutoff date For MBA aspirants who missed AICTE conducted CMAT in September 2012. February and May 2013. The Association of Management of MBA/MMS Institutes (AMMI) conducted CET in June. 2013 and second CET will be conducted on July 28. 2013. However, there is less hope for MBA Colleges/Departments. Some students who appeared for CMAT have failed in Graduation resulting in their disqualification in MBA admissions, whose admissions may gel canceled. This has badly hit the CAP admissions. Results are awaited for few discipline such as BBA. Unlike Engineering, the minimum aggregate percentage required for open category students in graduation is 50% and reserved category students is 45%.
The MBA admission scenario may result in closing down of some MBA Colleges. Departments not only in Nagpur but across Maharashtra. RCOEM consistently performed as No 1 College in Engineering and MBA.
Similarly. NIT GSM which started in 2009 has been successful not only in gelling 100% admissions but ensuring good placements and quality program with strong emphasis on academics and foreign collaborations.
