Lok Sabha Polls 2014 Schedule, Timetable Dates
THE Election Commission on Wednesday announced (he schedule for Lok Sabha polls 2014 to be held in nine phases from April 7 (o May 12. Counting of voles will be taken up on May 16.
With the announcement of the elections. the model code of conduct has come into force with immediate effect. None Of The Above(NOTA) option in the electronic voting machines (EVMs) will be used for the first lime in the Lok Sabha elections. Counting of votes in all the 543 constituencies involving an electorate of 81.4 crore will be done on May 16. Chief Election Commissioner V S Sampath announced on Wednesday at a press conference releasing the election schedule.
Assembly eleciions will also be held simultaneously in the states of Andhra Pradesh. Telangana. Odisha and Sikkim.
