VCA Nagpur Website Hacked !!

VCA Nagpur Website Hacked !!

TECHNOLOGY may have helped cricket look more interesting but on Friday Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) witnessed the dirty side of it when it's official site www.vca.co.in was 'defaced'.
VCA was in a rude shock when its website was hacked by "Th3_hunt3r". The hacker has Facebook page with a name of 'Root Hacker". The hacker. possibly based at Wardha or with strong Wardha connection (since same group or person had hacked websites of many Wardha-based educational institutions) had also posted information about hacking of the website on his Faccbook page which revealed that apart from VCA, the Nagpur University and many other unsuspecting institutions faced similar cyber attack.

On Friday. VCA site displayed defaced page with the following message... 11 Security Compromised By Th3_hunt3r 11 I _ OWN _ VIDARBH A _ CYBER _ SPACE: Then Why The F*** VCA Site Should Remain Without Deface; Want Any Help Contact Me On Facebook.
When VCA officials were contacted, they said, they knew nothing about the site being hacked. "It is news for me." one of the top officials said.

According to sources, the website was last modified on December 23. 2013 at 7.52 pm.
In-charge of Cyber Cell of Nagpur city police. Assistant Police Inspector. Tapan Kolhe informed us that the cyber cell have received the information about hacking of the website at late night and they are trying to trace the offenders. However, no police complaint was lodged at any police station. Cops will register the case under Sections 43 (a) and 66 of the Information Technology Act 2005, he informed.
The very same person or group had also hacked official website of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) in November due to which examination results details were not visible for many days and facebook page of root hunter revealed that many other unprotected websites were defaced by him including High Court of Bangladesh and some Wardha-based educational institutions, due to which cyber security expert believe that under the garb of similarly sounding name of root hunter, this group or individual, either based at Wardha or with strong Wardha connection is creating this mischief. But under Information Technology Act. hacking of official website is a very serious crime and cops hope to hunt down the mischief monger soon.
